Hometown Freebies was "hatched" on April 5, 2010 -- One day after Easter! Definitely fitting for a new birth.
Owners Teresa Martin and Stephen Smiroldo started this grassroots effort in order to be a venue and catalyst for giving and helping with community needs by connecting local families and individuals with local businesses, organizations, and charities. They look forward to making a positive impact on the health of small businesses, finances of families and individuals, as well as in helping fulfill needs within the church and local community.
Hometown Freebies is a locally focused website with a nation-wide vision to give small businesses the tools to promote themselves to the public for free or low cost. Those who sign-up and refer friends and family have a chance to receive a $10 gift certificate if 10 people they referred signed up. Affiliates also have the opportunity to earn money by supporting the Hometown Freebies mission and promoting our site.
Businesses can register and post their promotions or special offers to the public for free. Hometown Freebies also offers businesses "Featured Deal" spots similar to Groupon or other daily deal sites but at a fraction of the cost to the business owner. We strive in placing the business owner first since our mission is to promote the health and consumer awareness of small, local-based, businesses.
